Hola again, Spain and Portugal!

Spain and Portugal, 10-25 Oct 2015

We were so brave to take the little ones out - long rides, long trips. Gaar! This is a survivors' tale...

Click here for our itinerary.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
The idea came about earlier this year when Sito and I were invited to C's wedding in Leon, Spain. We debated over whether to go. I mean, what about the kids?? Then Mum they all said they had not been to Spain and one thing led to another so off we all went!
Of curries and a lot of people
India, 23-30 Dec 2013
Our first proper holiday in a long time!! But there is work at every step when you have a toddler in tow...
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~

So, we're back from India, safe and sound, no diarrhoea. We didn't lose the kid either, hoho! But this must be the most tiring holiday ever. Lots of interesting things and good moments, but tiring all the same. Plenty of photos and videos, and showing off the cutest and most troublesome aspect of our trip - ZK.

To Holland without a passport!

Indiana and Michigan, 20-21 Apr 2012

This is probably THE way to see the US - going on a road trip, driving and stopping along the way at whatever takes our fancy. Well, this is our first and - for now - our last..

Click here for our itinerary.

I *heart* Sg > NY

New York, 13-15 Apr 2012

Singapore? No, it's Singapore Day in New York! Yup, the event was our motivation for this trip..

We stayed in a hotel in Chinatown and pretty much just ate around there except for our excursions into Brooklyn. So no itinerary to post..

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Our last babymoon in the US - New York!
But first, a little adventure before the trip... I was trying to check in for our outbound flights on Friday but I kept getting an invalid confirmation code response from the system. So I logged into Expedia and to my shock and horror, both our outbound and inbound flights were changed!
Snowy spring break
Seattle, Vancouver, Anchorage 16-22 Mar 2012
1) Chinese food in the Chicago area sucks
2) It's been a while since we had good Chinese food in San Francisco last year
Time to look for better food!! :)
Click here for our itinerary.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~

So, we chose to go to Seattle, Vancouver and Anchorage cos we thought we would just be leaving one cold place for another. Turned out that it got really really warm here in Evanston - almost like Singapore warm! - the week before we set off! Oh well...

It was supposed to be an eating trip but I think we didn't overeat (too much, all the time), which was good for our bellies.. In fact, we walked so much especially in the first four days that it might have been a net loss!

Babymoon in the Bahamas!

Bahamas 2-4 Mar 2012

This is our very first babymoon and a very good holiday despite hiccups :)

Click here for our itinerary.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Back in February, we made plans for three holidays in March and April, and this babymoon to the Bahamas was the first!
It was such a relaxing holiday! We slept a lot, ate a lot, walked a lot, watched a lot of TV - all without the usual distraction of smart phones and emails and homework. It was bliss :)
Vroom vroom!
Milwaukee 21-23 Nov 2011
Vroom vroom! The Harley-Davidson Museum was the highlight of this trip.
Click here for our itinerary.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~

We randomly picked a spot nearby for a short holiday - Milwaukee. We decided not to drive so we took the Metra to Chicago and changed to an Amtrak, which turned out to be really comfortable.

California sunshine!

California, 17-24 Aug 2011

Sito went to both LA and San Francisco...more than 20 years ago! I've never been to LA before this but check out my last trip to San Francisco.

Click here for my itinerary.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
This has to be the most last-minute trip we've had so far. Settled tickets and hotels only five days before the journey!
Wednesday, 17 August - plenty of wonderings...
Welcome to Tinseltown, Mr and Mrs Sito! :)
Kentucky Derby!
Kentucky Derby, 6-7 May 2011
Yup, that was a guy with a horse costume with a girl in front...! It was supposed to be horse-racing but in the infield, there was more partying than anything else!
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~

Four happy busloads of Kellogg students and some JVs set off on Friday for Kentucky Derby!

One bus had sleepers. Another had a "merlion" after hours of partying on the bus. Ours was quite moderate - a mix of sleepers and party people, but thankfully no merlion.

Cherry blossoms instead of sakura

Washington DC, 8-10 Apr 2011

It was a very short trip - we arrived on Friday evening and left on Sunday afternoon.

Click here for my itinerary.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
We have both been to Japan during sakura season but separately. This time, we walked together along cherry blossom trees in DC :)
miso: Um, what's the difference? Sakura and cherry blossoms?
mf: Language :p
Dairy land
Madison, 23-26 Mar 2011
Went out of town for the first time since we got settled in after KWEST.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~

Sito came home last Saturday! :) And so did I - went to Madison to visit SZ on days 10-13 of home alone.

Hmmm, I just had a thought, that the home was really alone while we were both gone...

Anyway, so I set off for Madison on Wednesday afternoon. Took my trusty bus to O'Hare to catch a coach to Madison, but I almost took the wrong coach! I'm so rusty now that I haven't been on the road for years, sighs..

Surfing the rich coast!

Costa Rica, 21-28 Aug 2010

This was our most adventurous trip together! But nop, we didn't surf, not *that* adventurous :p

Psst: Check out the videos of us doing the tarzan swing!

~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
We learnt on the first day in Evanston that KWEST reads “quest”, and not “k-west”. It stands for Kellogg Worldwide Experiences and Service Trips.
Having registered a few days after registration started, we did not get any of our top 10 choices (out of some 40 options); the trips were that popular! We were asked to choose from Australia, Costa Rica and Turkey. For various reasons, we chose Costa Rica and it turned out to be great fun!
